"Sleep when the baby sleeps"
Those are the words of wisdom everyone tells me. What they don't tell me is what the hell to do if the baby doesn't sleep! The past couple of days he just will not sleep during the day. He'll look all sleepy but won't make that final leap into actual sleep unless I'm holding him, carrying him in the mei tai or driving him round in the car.
Now that's not too different to how he was a couple days ago...he'd always want to be held and rocked...what's different is that once he was asleep in your arms you could put him down and he'd stay asleep until he was hungry again. The past couple of days, he'll stay asleep for as long as it takes him to work out he's no longer being held or driven around (about 30 minutes versus the couple hours of sleep he'd get before in between feeds). Though saying that...I'm holding him now and he's just half awoke after only snoozing 20 mins.
Anyway, so we end up with cranky baby and tired mummy. DH has now started doing one of the night feeds to share the load...previously I was doing them all night feeds on worknights since I could catch up on sleep during the day. Seeing that I can't do that now, DH has stepped in to help (loves him!) as I was going crazy!

Chamomile tea works very well for cranky babies, whether because they are overtired or are having digestive issues.
If you're breastfeeding drinking chamomile tea yourself can help, and/or you can give it directly to Brandon via oral syringe or oral medication dropper.
I've been drinking Bigelow tea's Organic Chamomile Citrus. I make two tea bags at night and Kadie is a great deal less fussy the following days. I have another tea recipe specifically for fussy babies posted on TMP...somewhere.
Thanks for the tip :)
